Paro Anand’s authoritative retelling of the complete Ramayana continues. This is volume IV of VII.
On the peak of Mount Rishyamukha lives Sugriva – a monkey king in hiding, robbed of his throne and his wife by his own brother. When Rama and Sugriva meet and make a promise around a sacred fire, what follows is epic: a duel between brothers, an army of monkeys summoned from every corner of the world and one small ring pressed into the palm of Hanuman, son of the Wind God himself. The vast ocean stretches before him. All he has to do is jump.
